VLC is a free and open source cross-platform multimedia player and framework that plays most multimedia files as well as DVD, Audio CD, VCD, and various streaming protocols. There is also support for fullscreen display and javascript control. The decoding process is done by VLC and the output window is embedded in a webpage or directly in the browser window. This plugin adds support for MPEG, MPEG2, DVD, DivX, Ogg/Vorbis and many more formats to any Gecko-based web browser (Firefox, Galeon, etc.).
